HISTORY of SNOWBOARDING
The first board made for ridding on the the snow was invented in 1965 and was called the Snurfer.
The
second board made was called the Ski-board and was invented in 1960.
Those boards were not officially allowed on the mountain until Jake Burton
on the EAST-coast and Tom Sims on the WEST-coast re-invented the Snurfer
in 1977. They shortly became officially snowboards in the early 80"s.
GNU
is another leading snowboarding manufacture which came out in the early 90's. They
are also known now for their Banana Technology in LIB TECH boards.
Snowboarding has now launched into full orbit and is now the fasted growing Winter Sport of all time.
Word from the BBZ President:
- I rode my 1st Sims board in 1989 at Snow Summit.
- I rode my 1st GNU board in 1993 at Mt. Baldy.
- I rode my 1st Burton board in 1998 in Mammoth.
I
fell in love with all three boards and I still ride all three till
this day. Those early snowboard companies paved the way for Bad Boarderz today.
Bad
Boarderz will soon launch a full carbon-fiber snowboard! EXCELLENT for
Freestyle, All Mountain and Slalom. Let the COMPETITION BEGIN.
