Lil History:
The
first board that was made for snow was invented in 1965 called the Snurfer and the second invented board was called the Skiboard
back in 1969. They were not officially allowed on the mountain until Jake Burton and Tom Sims re-invented the Snurfer in 1977
and making them official snowboards in the 80's.
GNU snowboards a.k.a
"LIB TECH" shorty came out in 1984 and now Snowboarding is one of the largest & fastest growing winter sport
ever!!! I rode my first "SIMS" snowboard 1989 at Snow Summit and rode my first GNU at Mt. Baldy in 1993. I raced
on my first Burton board in 1998 at Mammoth Mt. I must say I love all 3 boards!!!!
